(I put this on deviantArt several days ago, but I guess I got so caught up in preparing for my algebra final that I forgot to also put it here. D: Oh well, here it is now. xD)

Not all goats are Tappers

Me: <( Hee-HEE! I look kinda like a Tapper, don’t I?

~,,o <( Reasonably, yes. But I know ruddy well that’s not what you are. I’m not about to entertain you by going all shiny-eyed like a ninny and saying: (hands upon cheeks; speaks in a high-pitched breathless tone) OH, me oh my, what is this ODD little TAPPER?? I’ve never SEEN such a thing! My simple Esmeraldian brain cannot possibly think past the world I hail from, so a Tapper it MUST be!

Me: <( (Hearty, slightly-bleating laugh) I LOVE how smart you are. Will you marry me?

~,,o <( You know, Tappers don’t have vocal chords, Story. If you want to be one, you might try out that nifty little feature.

Me: <( Hah! I don’t think so… I have NO idea how long this form will stick around, so I’m going to enjoy it to its fullest! B-AAA-AH-AH!!

😀 😀 😀 Shortly after my Goat-‘Koiya revelation, this li’l dialogue happened between me and Masky, and even then I KNEW I would have to doodle it out. It took me a while due to illustration projects overtaking my drawing hand, but now I’ve finally gotten to it!

So yes, ‘Koiya’s Goat-Mode is still going on, and it’s been quite fun feeling so goaty! ^w^ I considered that Goat-‘Koiya’s face looked just slightly too ‘horsey’ in the first doodle of her… I think goats tend to have a bit more ‘swoop’ in their snoots, rather than an arrow-straight snout. So I gave Sekoiya some ‘swoop’. :’D

What. The. GOAT.

WHAT. O_O

Okay. I guess this started when I was sitting in a parking lot the other week and suddenly, randomly seeing a pale, goat-like face in my mind’s eye. It was Sekoiya! I could just tell it was… even though this is definitely not a face I have ever seen on Sekoiya or expected to see on her. This has got to be the weirdest thing Sekoiya has ever told me!

‘Koiya… goat?? What is this goat? WHY goat? Why are you goating?? Tell meee…

You’ve only ever been a dragon of some kind before. And you still are, the dragon is definitely not gone… are you saying you’re a dragon AND a goat? The way that dragons in a lot of myths can disguise themselves as other animals? And the goat still kind of has a few faint dragony touches, like the teeth… a Qilin/Kirin comes to mind, a little…? Why a GOAT though? Surely not just because I’m a Capricorn and ALSO born in the Year of the Sheep. xD I mean, I DO have a soft spot for ruminants, especially their faces (and if I am fair, the various dragon-modes Sekoiya has had through time have generally had a bit of a ruminant-quality, even if subtly)… but still, why goat??

But oh my gosh, this fits. This so, unexpectedly, fits. This new, experimental ‘goat-mode’ feels NICE right now. I love the stoutness. The sauciness. The HORNS and just… the ‘Ruminance’! The slight touch of Celticness… yes, that is there! I mean, if Sekoiya the Dragon is going to have an alternate animal ‘disguise’, she could have done waaay worse. At least it’s not a carnivore. …At least it’s not… yes, I’m going to say this… at least it’s not a wolf *shudder*. xD Anyway. This might be a passing phase that Sekoiya is playing around with. It might not last long… as far as I can see right now, this might last anywhere from one more day to the rest of my life! We shall have to see! However long it lasts, I am going to have fun with my ‘newfound goatiness’! 😀 😀 😀

PS: Just for fun and in the name of curiosity, I looked up some spiritual stuff to do with goats. And THIS webpage had some veeerrrry interesting thought-food to contribute. I mean, I can take this with a grain of salt, but still, a lot of oddly-fitting things at this point in life. Especially the first two sentences under the ‘Power Animal’ heading. Helloooo, madam! Would you happen to be talking right at me?? o_o Yes, indeed, some definite food for thought there!

Lately I’ve been working a lot on that illustration gig I mentioned before… the fairytale-spoof with all characters being cats. :3 Of course, what’s a classic fairytale without a prince character? 😀 Here’s the design-sheet I did for said character… easily the most elaborate of all the character designs for this story, ha. I dunno how much I’m allowed to disclose about this project at this point so I’ll just call him ‘Kitty Prince’ for now and leave it at that, haha. xD

More about this project will surely come in the future, though! 😉

Beautiful Blue, I Want to Keep You

Vent-art incoming. And, subsequent rant. Have any of you heard from that new climate report? I don’t want to detail it here because I’m not a learned authority on the matter (so who am I to lose you valuable sleep, right?) but if you look up ‘IPCC new report’ or something similar, I’m sure you’ll find it.

This pisses me off so much. I cannot BEAR to watch a gradual Armageddon slowly destroy everything. I did not come here for this.

The bank accounts of a handful of capitalists are NOT more important than literally everything that everyone we’ve ever known, or known of, has ever had. If all these changes were purely nature-caused, that would be one thing. But if there’s even a shred of evidence that it’s human-caused (and there is much more than a shred!), then we need to address it, goddamn it.

The more I hear about how this climate change thing is advancing, and how little progress efforts to stop it are making, the more discouraged I become. I feel so helpless. Sure, I can take individual actions. I already don’t eat meat, I already don’t drive a car. Since elementary/primary school I’ve been going on about how much I love animals, bugs, trees, etc, and how important they are. I’ve been talking about how humans are a part of the whole system and need to stop thinking they’re ‘above’ everything else in the world. In response I have often been met with ridicule and dismissal. I’ve been ‘reminded’ of how trees don’t feel and how animals were just ‘put here to benefit humans’. I’ve had people torture and kill insects in front of me just to get a reaction out of me. At this point, I’m running out of ideas for what I can do on an individual level.

So, the other day, distraught by these thoughts and blubbering like a baby, I simply started making this vent-picture, for want of anything else to do about it. I suppose I like the result, but that doesn’t change how upset the cause of it makes me feel.

As the title says, my art history class prompted us all to do a “psychological self portrait illuminating your personality”, and I think I may have gotten a little carried away. xD

Anyway, here’s the result. We’ll see how it performs in the class. 😛 (I can’t wait to see everyone else’s. ^_^ This part is way more fun than doing a 3,ooo word research paper on a famous artist, haha. 😀 )
