Over the weekend I went on a trip and I decided that during that time I was going to take a break from ALL ongoing projects… comics, illustration gigs, what have you… and JUST draw stuff for the pure enjoyment of it. 😀 And of course, what did I get the hankering to do? Go through some old sketchbooks with a bunch of ancient Dreaming Esmeralda stuff in them and do some redraws! 8D I promised myself I’d do a whole lot of them before the weekend was over… I didn’t get the chance to draw quite the onslaught that I was aiming for, but perhaps I can continue them in a more gradual fashion. I really DID love doing these… I dunno what it is about Dreaming Esmeralda; it just brings me home to my soul, haha. ^_^
It wasn’t just updating the art style of these that was fun… more fun was the updating of the characters’ very personalities/tendencies and circumstances to match the current version of Dreaming Esmeralda, rather than the 2012 version. 😛 The first one, for example… Masky and Sepia’s character development over the years dictates that their reactions to being in each others’ presence (at least at the beginning) are quite different than they used to be. xD
